Guiness Book of World Records has a place for Sirumugai! RMKV painted the town not just red, but every colour imaginable and unimaginable with the introduction of their 50,000 colour saree. Well, the weavers of our Sirumugaipudur Sri Ramalinga Sowdeswari Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society have proved that it’s a measly number, compared to their 1.64+ lakh colour saree!!! They are going to put this little camp town of Sirumugai on the world map by entering the Guinness Book of world records. Psst.. its rumoured that Ma Nature had come to borrow few colours for her own palette.
