Nilgiris | The accessible heaven for us
I've always been fond of those mountains around me right from my childhood days. I was thinking that every place will be like this, surrounded by these kinda mountains. It took a long time for me to realize that these mountains are just blessed for my village and me.
Nilgiris! I call it as a 'Heaven on earth'. I just love this place. Memory-wise, It’s always connected to my hometown. Wherever I go, whatever I do, it’s always these mountains that bring me back to my village. It was so close to me. Though its few miles away from our village, I've to wait till my 6th grade to see that up-close and be there. My first visit to Ooty happened. I still remember those nostalgic days.
Once i started to earn my own penny, I've been to these mountains innumerable number of times. I always avoid the commercial part of this place, mainly the Ooty. But always tried different routes.
Have you ever explored the Anaikatty route via Karamadai, Pillur, Manjore to hit Ooty?
Have you ever been to Parsons Valley, Mukurthi, Emerald, Avalanche and other western catchment areas?
Have you ever stayed in those isolated EB Transit rooms in complete wilderness?
Trust me! It will be a lifetime adventure.
If you haven't ever tried this before, its not worth staying close to these mountains. Give it a try! Its mesmerizing!
